Located halfway between the tip and elbow of Cape Cod, Wellfleet's population swells nealy sixfold during the summer. Nearly half of the land area is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Wellfleet is famous for its eponyumous oysters and has the second greatest concentration for art galleries on Cape Cod, right after Provincetown.
